Clover Solar which recently signed an MoU with NTPC Vidyut Vypar Nigam for under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) to set up a solar power plant ( Read : List of MoUs with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar for Setting up Solar Power Plants ) has commenced pre project activities.

The project involves setting up a 2 MW solar power plant at Supa near Pune with an investment of Rs.350 million. The company plans to commission the unit by March 2011.

[ This is one of the two projects that signed MoU with NTPC Viduyt Vyapar, to begin the project work. The other project is Videocon's 5 MW Solar PV plant ]

The company is in talks with some private equity players and clean-tech funds to raise resources to fund its expansion and is eyeing around Rs 50-crore. The company may dilute about 25% equity.
